Streets of Phnom

During my nine-year absence from the capital the major roads of the capital
had all been upgraded and polished.
Independence Monument, was built in the 1950s at King Sihanouk's request.
The legendary architect Vann Molyvann, who still lives and works in Phnom
Penh, built it and the Khmer Rouge left it alone. The Khmer Rouge also
planted the coconut trees that are now seen everywhere in Phnom Penh.
If you look carefully you will see that there are four people on the red
motorcycle. That is considered normal in Cambodia.
